Title: Nebraska State Organizer
Location: Nebraska (remote, with frequent in-person organizing)
Type: Contract (part-time), with potential to extend

Role summary
We’re looking for a Nebraska State Organizer to help build and lead a statewide grassroots program. You’ll recruit and train volunteers, build relationships with partner orgs, run local events, and drive measurable engagement (sign-ups, turnouts, conversations, actions taken).
This is a high-autonomy role for someone who can build a program from the ground up and execute week-to-week field plans.
What you’ll do
Build a volunteer base across key Nebraska communities (recruit, onboard, train, retain)
Plan and lead field activities: tabling, community events, trainings, canvassing/phonebanking (as appropriate)
Grow a coalition of local partners (community leaders, advocacy groups, issue-aligned orgs)
Collect and elevate stories from Nebraskans impacted by prohibition (with consent)
Drive civic actions: calls/emails to legislators, testimony turnout, public comment, community education
Track progress and report weekly: goals, metrics, learnings, next steps
Coordinate messaging and materials with LWA central team; maintain brand and compliance standards
What success looks like (first 60–90 days)
A functioning volunteer pipeline (weekly onboarding + recurring volunteer shifts)
Regular events/activities on a consistent cadence
Active partner list with scheduled check-ins and shared mobilizations
Clear metric tracking (signups, volunteers activated, events run, actions taken)
Qualifications
Experience organizing (campaigns, advocacy, labor, community organizing, student orgs—any is fine)
Comfortable recruiting and leading volunteers
Strong communication (text, email, phone, in-person)
Reliable transportation for in-state travel
Organized, self-directed, and comfortable being “the point person” in Nebraska
Preferred
Existing Nebraska relationships (community orgs, local advocates, civic leaders)
Familiarity with state legislative processes or ballot/civic campaigns
Spanish or other language skills relevant to Nebraska communities
