What We Believe

Legalization isn’t just “yes or no.” It’s how we build a system that is safer, fairer, and more effective than prohibition. Our mission is to advance cannabis policy that protects people, respects science, and repairs harm.

Prohibition has failed—and caused lasting damage

Cannabis prohibition hasn’t eliminated cannabis use. It has fueled arrests, inequity, and unsafe unregulated products. We believe the status quo is unacceptable.

Legalization must prioritize public health and safety

Legal cannabis policy should reduce harm through:

  • Clear labeling and potency transparency

  • Independent lab testing and contamination standards

  • Public education grounded in evidence—not fear or hype

  • Strong enforcement against illegal sales and dangerous products

Justice is not optional

A legal market cannot coexist with a system that keeps people punished for past cannabis conduct. We support:

  • Automatic expungement and record sealing where eligible

  • Resentencing pathways for relevant convictions

  • Ending discriminatory enforcement and collateral penalties

Communities harmed by enforcement deserve reinvestment

Legalization should include measurable reinvestment in communities most impacted by past drug enforcement—through education, job training, reentry support, and community-led initiatives.

Keep cannabis away from kids

We support strict age limits, responsible marketing rules, and prevention programs that actually work—without criminalizing young people.

A regulated market should be transparent and accountable

We support regulation that:

  • Prevents contaminated or mislabeled products

  • Encourages compliance and consumer safety

  • Limits monopolization and supports fair competition

  • Creates clear, enforceable rules for businesses
